Going to Anime Boston 2006?
Enjoy the Prince of Tennis, as well as the musical?
Do you enjoy singing and or dancing?
If you have answered yes, or are just curious please read on.
With the success of the Bad Luck performance at Anime Boston ’05
alchemy_of_yaoi and I have been discussing a Prince of Tennis performance for Anime Boston ‘06
TALK. NOTHING IS FINAL, WE HAVE NOT TALKED TO THE ANIME BOSTON STAFF YET SO NOTHING IS FINAL. PLEASE DO NOT SPREAD WORD OF THIS AS A FINAL THING
With much much work on
alchemy_of_yaoi part as she had been able to get the choreography done for many songs. We even have our own sound mixer who will come alive when we need ‘karaoke’ versions of the music as well as mix in our voices if need be.
I talked with Bad Luck and to get Anime Boston to agree to letting them perform took much work and persuasion.
SO. This leaves us with two options, go one as a performance or a skit. When Anime Boston puts up their masquerade information I will contact the, and ask them if they would allow us to go on as a performance as Bad Luck did.
IF WE GO ON AS A PEFORMENCE. IF IF IF.
We will be performing three songs. Practices will be tight and everything will be strict. I will not be afraid to kick anyone out if they do not take it seriously, my self included.
If they rather us, go on as a skit. We will perform only ONE song and have to apply and work around all their rules. We’d be able to be more lenient and enjoy this but practices will be a must of course.
Nothing is set in stone, we’re not exactly sure how we will be singing if either is decided which is why this is all a maybe until Anime Boston decides to put up it’s Masquerade information.
~ If Anime Boston allows us to use microphones, we will be singing live
~ If they decide they rather us not use mics we will be prerecording our voices
Yes, you have to sing. You don’t have to be a chorus child but I believe with work everyone can find their voice.
Yes you have to dance… with tennis rackets. Follow our instructions and you’d be fine.
But how would we be able to all practice if we’re coming from around the United States?
Why it’s so simple. We’d send you a video with the moves as well as written down. That Friday of the convention we’d practice most (if not all) day to put everything together. Impossible?
Not so. I was apart of something very similar and with my own eyes I saw this work. Everyone was determined, everyone had practiced, and with 12 hours of practice we were able to perform one hour of music amazingly. And we came from absolutely everywhere. So…
THIS CAN WORK.
Now the requirements.
- you have to order your own Seigaku uniform (specifically the pants and jacket)
- you have to be determined! I don’t know if you’ve ever performed on stage but it’s HARD and over whelming. Meaning, lots of practice and lots of patience with yourself. You’ll be put throat breathing exercise and exercising your body to get it in shape.
- Make sure you’re coming to Anime Boston. We’ll probably need a few more members just incase some can’t come but make sure you really are
- Not everyone lives nears someone so we’d record the dance moves for you and give you your part of the song so you can practice on your own but a full get together would be done. You think it’s hard to put it all together at the end? My chorus teacher did this for Tilles where we performed on our own until the day OF the performance were we all (singers and musicians) came together and put it in one. It’s possible.
- If you live close enough to practice you will practice A LOT.
- You have to try very hard to look like the character... yes a lot of us are cutting our hair.
Anyone interested? The more people the better. ^_^!
If you would like to join us please keep in mind you must be 100% certain you are coming to Anime Boston or you will be considered as an understudy.
Also, please record your voice and send it to

As I said, this has been in planning a long time and we have gotten many members. We are currently looking for:::
Oishi Syuuichiro
Kawamura Takashi
One of the ichinen (yes we do have ichinen)
If you’d be interested in Oishi, please know we are looking for someone with a STRONG singing voice as he does have many parts.
Thank you for reading!
If this isn’t allowed please feel free to delete this.

Date: 2005-08-06 04:22 am (UTC)(At least I'm in-character, yanno? ^_~ XD)
Also, suggestion: Is anyone able to be in Boston the day BEFORE the con? I'm planning on it (though I'll have to see how I can manage money-wise when the time to book my hotel room rolls around) and it would give us an extra day to practice without missing out on Con activities.

Date: 2005-08-08 03:40 am (UTC)This really cheered me up after my depressing return from Chicago.
I'm totally pumped for this. ^o^!! Hell I'm even losing shitloads of weight and trying to make myself more flexible as a precaution.
>.> I'm even trying to get something very close to Fuji's racket and tennis shoes.
